LET THE GOOD TIMES ROW 2024

This September ROW team, board, staff and friends and family gathered to celebrate the Ripple Effect that rowing as part of a team can have after a breast cancer diagnosis. Beautiful Ignite Glass Studios set the backdrop for an evening of delicious food, generous libations and a lively dance floor!

The focus of the evening was a celebration of our past and a commitment to continue in our mission; providing a unique opportunity to breast cancer survivors to become active and connected in their recovery. Original team member Catherine Rocca was honored with the Spirit of ROW Award, in recognition of how her commitment to and support of the organization has shaped our values and resourced our growth and impact. Catherine’s teammate Mary Ridley described how she embodies the spirit of our team:

“Ten years ago [Catherine] made me feel like I belonged on this team, like I was doing great just showing up to practice on those terrible ergs in the months after my surgery and radiation. She said I was a real athlete! And she continues to encourage and support novices and new members…”

Our sponsors led the way in resourcing ROW to be here for the woman being diagnosed today. Thank you to Kathleen Behner, the Bernthal Charitable Fund, Ozinga, the McNally Neuenschwander Family, Inseus, Sandra Kirmeyer and Tom Opferman, Clarity Partners LLC, Sue Ann Glaser and Allan Alson, Absolute Medical Inc., Valauskas Haukas LLC, Melody and Brennan Todd, and Wintrust Bank Chicago.
